The Confederation of African Football (CAF) sheds the lights on the city of Casablanca, which will host the Al-Ahly team’s match at nine o’clock this evening, Saturday, with its counterpart, the South African champions, in the final of the African Champions League on the Mohammed V complex in Casablanca, Morocco.
The Red Genie is looking for the tenth title in its history, while the South African champion seeks to put his name on the list of winners of the Champions League for the first time in its history.
And the CAF Champions League and Confederation account posted a video on Twitter, entitled: "Casablanca is a city that breathes football."
Al-Ahly’s appearance in the Champions League final for the fourth time in the last 5 years, after recording its presence in the 2017, 2018 and 2020 editions, and in the current edition, in search of enhancing its record number of title wins.
Al-Ahly won the African Championship in the years (1982, 1987, 2001, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2013, 2020) and was unlucky to win the title in the years (1983, 2007, 2017, 2017 and 2018).
South African coach Pitso Musimani aspires to be the second foreign coach in the history of the Red Castle, who leads the team to win the African Champions League twice in a row, and is also looking for an individual achievement because he will achieve the title for the third time in his career, which is a unique number for the South African coach.
Pitso Mosimane plans to make adjustments to Al-Ahly's way of playing tonight, and is studying more than one scenario, whether to return to play in the 4/3/3 method or continue in the 4/2/3/1 method to choose the best in them, in line with the way the South African team plays.
The Al-Ahly and Kaizer Chiefs match tonight will be managed by Burundian referee Pacific Ndabehau, as referee, Elvis Nyuguwe and Lee Okello as assistants, while the fourth referee, Atogo Kastan, will be in charge of the video room, and referees Radwan Gaid and Zakaria Princi will be present in the video room.
