A Lebanese medical official announces the continued rise in Corona injuries, driven by the spread of the Delta mutant

A Lebanese medical official confirmed that the number of new infections with the Corona virus in Lebanon continues to rise, driven by the spread of the "delta" variable that appeared in the country last week, while hospitals are still suffering from severe power cuts and a shortage of staff who face deteriorating working and living conditions.

Dr. Firas Al-Abyad, head of the Rafic Hariri University Hospital (the main medical center for treating cases of infection with the Corona virus in Lebanon), expressed Friday his concern about the insufficient resources available, especially in view of the many accompanying crises in other sectors that also require immediate attention.

Al-Abyadh stressed that help is needed, and the primary focus should be on stopping the bleeding and restoring some stability.

It is worth noting that the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced today the registration of 404 new infections with the emerging corona virus, at the highest daily infection rate in several weeks, as the daily infection rate on the fifth of this July reached only 46 infections per day before it rose again in conjunction with the increase in the movement of people. immigrants to Lebanon.
