World Food: 41 million people are at risk of starvation around the world

The World Food Program expected that the number of people teetering on the brink of famine will rise from 34 million at the beginning of the year to 41 million by the end of this June, according to Russia Today.

The World Food Program warned that without immediate food assistance, they could face real hunger.

The program warned in a report in Geneva on Friday that starvation due to conflicts, climate change and the economic repercussions of the Corona pandemic could become a reality for millions of people.

WFP estimates that more than 270 million people today are acutely food insecure or at high risk in 2021.

The program indicated that it needs $ 5 billion for the year 2021 to avoid famine and meet the urgent food needs of the most vulnerable people, as the amount represents a third of the needs for this year, which amount to $ 15 billion.
