Barcelona legend and Al Sadd Qatar coach Xavi Hernandez arrived in Barcelona on Monday after the end of the Al Sadd season, but was immediately asked whether he would replace Dutch Ronald Koeman in training the Blaugrana or not.
The legendary Barcelona midfielder accompanied his family as they prepared to enjoy their vacations in the Catalan capital, after spending their last vacation in the city two years ago.
When asked about the possibility of taking charge in Barcelona by the journalists who were waiting for his arrival, he gave a direct answer, as Chafee responded in statements published in the "Marca" newspaper, saying, "I do not know anything, I came here on vacation."
The newspaper pointed out that the World Cup winner with the Spanish national team did not want to say anything else and left quickly with his family.
Xavi has just renewed his contract with Al Sadd, although the Qatari club made it clear to the 41-year-old that he would not stand in his way if an offer came from Barcelona.
Barcelona president Juan Laporta can sack Coman in the coming days, and Xavi is seen as the ideal replacement for him, as reports have surfaced that talks with the former midfielder are already underway.
The ball is now in the Laporta stadium, where he will have to make a decision about what to do with the position of the new coach for Barca.
