Russia accuses America and the European Union of trying to interfere in the Moldovan elections

"The United States and the European Union are trying to interfere in the upcoming parliamentary elections in Moldova," said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

Zakharova added - according to the (Russia Today) news channel today, Friday, "The Russian Foreign Ministry has drawn attention many times to the attempts of the United States and the member states of the European Union to interfere in the internal political processes in Moldova, and we are forced again to remind that Western discourse is gaining strong momentum." With the approaching early parliamentary elections in Moldova, scheduled for July 11 this year.

Zakharova pointed to a statement made by the head of the European Union delegation in Moldova, Peter Michalko, and said: “Peter Michalko once again launched unacceptable criticisms on the part of a diplomat against state authorities in Moldova, and claimed that there is a deficiency in the judicial system in this republic and declared explicitly that The new Moldovan parliament must be trusted ... such an manifestation of a lack of respect for the main political institutions in Moldova and selectivity in determining the objectives of criticism, which is always focused on the Moldavian political forces calling for the development of dialogue with Russia, has become, unfortunately, the usual practice of Western countries. ".

Zakharova stressed that Russia supports the development of "genuine friendly relations with the Republic of Moldova, based on the principle of non-interference in internal affairs, respect for the Moldovan people and a willingness to dialogue with the institutions of power that were formed as a result of the will of the Moldovan people."

On the other hand, Gregory Karasin, head of the International Affairs Committee of the Russian Federation Council, said, "The council formed a delegation of observers headed by Senator Sergei Muratov to monitor the presidential elections in Syria."

Karasin added that the delegation will include 4 members of the Federation Council and representatives of the Russian Social Council.
