The Syrian Parliament: 41 applications to run for the post of President of the Republic so far


The President of the Syrian People's Assembly, Hammouda Al-Sabbagh, announced today, Tuesday, that the Council received 12 new applications to run for the post of President of the Republic, bringing the number of applications submitted to 41.


The Syrian News Agency (SANA) stated that the Supreme Constitutional Court informed the Council this morning that Jihad Saleh Al-Shukhir, Anisa Bashir Hammouch, Samir Ahmed Mualla, Hussein Muhammad Jassem, Muhammad Seri Muhammad Nabil Qunoot, Fatima Akla al-Barako, Amal Muhammad Bashir Qaddour, Anwar Sajie Hassan, Adnan Anwar Shuja and Shaish Hussein Al-Khalif, Tahseen Fawzi Al-Muhammad, and Jalal Abdul-Karim Ibrahim Talabat run for the post of President of the Republic.


The President of the Syrian People's Assembly, Hammouda Sabbagh, had announced - earlier - the opening of the door to run for the presidential elections, in implementation of the provisions of the Syrian constitution, as of Monday, April 19, calling on those wishing to run to submit candidacy applications to the Supreme Constitutional Court within a period of 10 days ending on Wednesday the 28th. April.
