Industry and Trade: Organizing mobile exhibitions for Egyptian products in the Iraqi governorates


The Minister of Trade and Industry, Nevin Jameh, announced that the next stage will witness the activation of joint cooperation between the Egyptian and Iraqi private sectors by organizing a number of mobile exhibitions for Egyptian products in a number of Iraqi governorates, especially in the fields of textile, leather and pharmaceutical industries, as well as machinery, equipment and production lines, stressing the state's keenness. The Egyptian leadership, government and people are committed to strengthening the partnership relationship with the brotherly State of Iraq in all fields and at various levels.

 

She said that the successive visits of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly to the state of Iraq during the past few months reflect the peculiarity of the strategic relations linking Egypt and Iraq, which must be translated into concrete cooperation projects that have a positive impact on the economy of the two brotherly countries.

 

This came during the Minister’s meeting with the delegation of the Federation of Iraqi Industries headed by Dr. Alaa Al-Aqili, Vice President of the Federation, and in the presence of Dr. Khaled Abdel Azim, Executive Director of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, and Minister of Trade Commissioner Amr Hazaa, Director of the Arab Countries Administration at the Commercial Representation Authority. This meeting came on the sidelines of the delegation’s participation The Iraqi at the Arab Labor Conference recently hosted by Egypt.

 

The minister said that there is coordination at the highest level with the Iraqi government to strengthen the frameworks of joint industrial, commercial and investment cooperation between the two countries, and to contribute to the rehabilitation of Iraqi factories, as well as the transfer of advanced Egyptian industrial technologies to Iraqi industries, which contributes to a qualitative leap in the level of partnership between the two countries, especially in the areas Of common interest between the two sides, in addition to increasing the rates of trade exchange and joint investments during the next stage.

 

In this context, Jameh stressed that the private sector represents a basic pillar for achieving the plans and objectives of the two governments, appreciating the main role of the Egyptian and Iraqi Federation of Industries in strengthening the industrial partnership relationship between the business community and starting to implement joint investment projects that meet the needs of the two brotherly peoples, especially that the Egyptian product is very popular. Inside the Iraqi market.

 

For his part, Dr. Alaa Al-Agaili, Vice-President of the Federation of Iraqi Industries, explained the union’s keenness to enhance aspects of economic and investment cooperation with sister Egypt and to achieve maximum benefit from the long Egyptian experiences in various industrial fields, especially leather tanning, spinning, weaving and engineering industries, especially since the Egyptian product is requested by name in The Iraqi market, pointing to the union's desire to seek the assistance of Egyptian industrialists in establishing a model tannery, expanding the pharmaceutical, leather and textile industries, and establishing integrated industrial complexes with a focus on achieving joint industrial integration.

 

He added that the Federation of Iraqi Industries enjoys great support from the Government of Iraq, whether at the level of facilities or financing services, pointing out that the Federation is currently seeking to take serious steps and start an executive plan to activate cooperation and establish joint projects between the Federations of Industry in the two countries.

 

In this regard, Dr. Khaled Abdel Azim, Executive Director of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, stressed that the Federation is keen to strengthen the bonds of cooperation between manufacturers in the two countries, and to start establishing joint projects, especially in the areas needed by the Iraqi market, referring in this context to the memorandum of understanding signed by Eng. Mohamed Al-Suwaidi, head of the Federation of Egyptian Industries with his Iraqi counterpart, which represents an important step towards achieving a breakthrough in the level of industrial and investment relations between the two brotherly countries.
