Mikati: Attempts to resolve the issue of forming a government capable of facing the reality in Lebanon

The Lebanese Prime Minister-designate, Najib Mikati, said that there are attempts to solve the issue of forming a government in a way that is convenient for everyone and at the same time is able to confront the reality in Lebanon.

Mikati added - in a statement after his meeting with Lebanese President Michel Aoun, as part of the government formation consultations - that everyone knows the difficulties the country is facing, and the Lebanese must be one hand.

He explained that the talk today was in depth about the formation of the government, and there will be other meetings this week, noting that the percentage of government formation is greater than the percentage of apology, saying: "There is no specific time and the period is not open."

On the other hand, the Presidency of the Lebanese Republic announced that the flag will be lowered today, Monday, at the Presidential Palace in Baabda, in mourning for the victims of the explosion of a fuel tank in the town of Al-Talil in the Akkar Governorate on Sunday.

The government and official institutions in the country flew the flag at half-mast in compliance with the national mourning today, which was announced by the Lebanese Council of Ministers yesterday, which decided to fly the flags at half-staff at public administrations, institutions and municipalities. Regular programs on radio and television stations are also modified in proportion to the tragic catastrophe.

The town of Al-Talil in the Akkar governorate in northern Lebanon witnessed a fuel tank explosion that killed at least 28 people and injured 80 others in a disaster that brought to mind the Beirut seaport explosion that occurred in August last year.
