One of the service work that has helped implement precautionary and preventive measures since the beginning of the virus’s emergence through a system of field services that contribute to facilitating the performance of pilgrims to the Grand Mosque for rituals and worship through a cell of service departments whose employees are distributed on the sides of the Grand Mosque, its courtyards and presidential facilities.
And the Assistant Director of Service Affairs at the Grand Mosque, Fahd Al-Juaid, said, according to the “Saudi News Agency” that the presidency, at the beginning of the pandemic, mobilized all its technical and human capabilities to wash carpet-free floors four times a day to ensure the safety of its visitors, and 13,500 carpets are lifted daily from the places designated for prayer, and places are washed and sterilized. And the work of precautionary health measures was intensified on the plastic walkers in the Grand Mosque, to ensure their safety and cleanliness, and that they were free from any viruses harmful to humans, and workers and dozens of mechanisms and sterilizers were used during their shifts that cover the day for 24 hours, as disinfection operations are used in which 60 thousand liters of Sanitizers are daily, environmentally friendly, and more than 1200 liters of fresheners are used, and about 600 equipment are used, while 900 liters of hand sanitizer are used daily at a rate of 300 liters per shift, which is packed in 300 automatic hand sanitizer devices, and about 3500 liters of sterilizers are used daily for surfaces and carpets, in addition to To the work of purifying the air conditioning inside the House of God, which is carried out nine times a day, and sterilizing it with ultraviolet rays before removing it to the air conditioning vents, through special devices that are The air is purified by 100 percent, through three stages: the withdrawal of natural air from the roof of the Grand Mosque by means of draft fans, where the air is directed to the filters to purify, which is cleaned daily, and then reaches the cooling units, which is a cooling stage The first is the heat exchange process in which water is used for cooling through water pumps that reach the Holy Mosque from the areas of Shamiya and Ajyad, and the air is purified before entering the cooling process through three other filters.
The Presidency also allocated a team of specialists in the field to follow up the daily work, all of them to serve the Grand Mosque and apply social distancing inside the campus. With regard to the doors, the Grand Mosque has 262 entrances that provide services to the pilgrims of the Sacred House of God, including 13 entrances for people with disabilities, and the number of open doors throughout the 24 There are 69 chapters during the six days of the week, and on Friday, 15 more chapters are added.

During last year's Hajj season, which carried a distinctive slogan for it, "Together we are on guard, we are all careful" and "in peace, safe", the presidency intensified sterilization and disinfection operations to reach ten times a day, enlisting (3,500) workers working on three shifts, in addition to cooperating with A number of government agencies concerned to take measures and mechanisms to achieve the specific goals during the Hajj to facilitate the pilgrims of Rahman to perform their rituals with peace and ease, and in the midst of an integrated and codified organization with precise precautionary, health and security measures, and sterilization and disinfection of the Grand Mosque, the courtyard, corridors and squares before the pilgrims come to perform Tawaf al-Ifadah and after leaving the Haram Holy Mecca.
He stated that the washing operations of the Sanctuary were raised to (10) times a day, during which the Grand Mosque, the courtyard, and the outer courtyards are washed, with the participation of more than (3500) male and female workers who have been rehabilitated, where the best types of disinfectants and the best environmentally friendly sterilizers and fragrances that were brought are used. Specifically for the Grand Mosque, so that approximately (54,000) liters of disinfectant are used daily during washing, using (95) stomachs and a modern washing mechanism.
The Presidency uses approximately 2,400 liters of sterilizers per day, including 1,500 liters for surfaces, and 900 liters as hand sanitizers, in addition to perfuming and perfuming the Holy Mosque in Makkah with more than 1,050 liters of luxurious perfumes to perfume the Sacred House of God, carpets and care. In keeping with the distinguished successes achieved by the Presidency in serving pilgrims and Umrah pilgrims, and in continuation of those efforts in completing the second exceptional Hajj in a row, the Presidency and through its agencies drew up an elaborate plan that enables pilgrims to complete their rituals with ease and ease through a system of integrated services, and packages of programs and services that take into account the continuity of services. Preventive and precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the Corona virus among pilgrims.
Al-Juaid added that the Square Department directs worshipers to the chapels designated for them, prevents them from practicing the profession of selling in the squares, prohibits smoking, follows up beggars inside the squares and coordinates with the relevant authorities, as well as on the service of organizing squares and corridors from everything that disturbs the comfort of visitors and worshipers, guiding the lost and helping the elderly and people with special needs, and to limit bedding and prevent luggage from being placed inside the yards.
On the other hand, the Technical and Service Affairs Agency at the Grand Mosque announced its readiness to receive the pilgrims by preparing an integrated sterilization system for the Hajj season this year, as the Preventive and Epidemic Control Department has equipped more than 450 sterilization pumps and more than 30 equipment to sterilize surfaces and atmospheres, and more than 500 electronic soap and hand sterilization Which comes as part of the administration's preparations for the Hajj season this year 1442 AH, and more than 15,000 liters of sterilizers were used daily to sterilize the sides of the ancient house with the possibility of increasing them if needed.
While more than 70 thermal cameras have been equipped for visual sorting operations to be placed at all entrances to the Grand Mosque with multiple and specific paths drawn by our specialists to achieve physical distance during examinations, and cameras can examine from 6 to 8 people per second.
The Vehicles Department has also secured about 3000 electric carts and 5,000 hand carts, and the electric car is reserved through the Naqwala application or through the points of sale in Al-Safa.
