Details of the meeting of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority and business developments


The meeting of the Board of Directors of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority, headed by Dr. Khaled El-Anany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, was held at the Ministry's headquarters in Zamalek, to discuss a number of issues related to the latest developments in the works in the museum and the surrounding area.

 

The Board of Directors was keen to invite representatives of the Hassan Allam alliance, which won the provision and operation of services in the museum, to attend the meeting in order to present and discuss its work plan in the coming period.

 

During the meeting, the representatives of the alliance gave a detailed presentation in which they reviewed the plan and strategy for operating services in the museum and all related files to ensure its readiness at the opening, pointing to the actual start of contracting procedures with major restaurants, specialists and local and international companies with expertise and high efficiency in the fields of services and hospitality and promoting better delivery. The level of services in the museum.

 

The members of the Board of Directors stressed the need to provide services in this important cultural and tourist edifice at a level comparable to and superior to major museums and international tourist destinations, in a way that supports the museum’s role as a unique cultural, cultural, and entertainment complex in activating tourism and economic development in Egypt, while respecting the archaeological environment of the museum and what it contains. The members of the Board of Directors also commended the great effort made by the Alliance through the appropriate presentation that was presented at the meeting, and it was also agreed to hold a series of workshops starting next August between the members of the Board of Directors and specialists in the Ministry with the representatives of the Alliance to discuss all aspects and ideas reviewed by the Alliance in a manner. During the meeting, Major General Atef Moftah, the general supervisor of the Grand Egyptian Museum project and the surrounding area, gave a presentation in which he reviewed the developments of the works in the museum and the exhibition halls, as well as the development work of the area surrounding the museum, noting the importance of the visit made by the Prime Minister to inspect the works in the museum and the surrounding area during the past week. He also reviewed the results of the meeting of the Scientific Committee, which was held in early July, in the presence of more than 25 consultants, to find out the latest developments in the project of transporting and preparing the first Khufu boat and the new building of the King Khufu Boat Museum, which is being built now at the Grand Egyptian Museum, referring to the precise successive experiments that were carried out to fully test all The final transport stages with the installation of special measuring devices to test the performance of the vehicle, the stability of the metal structure and the inclination of the road, to ensure its arrival in complete safety, pointing out that all trials and tests of the transport process have been proven successful.

 

At the end of the meeting, Dr. Khaled Al-Anani thanked all the museum staff for the effort they made to finish this great edifice, and he also thanked the Supreme Council of Antiquities for their cooperation with their colleagues in the museum regarding the transfer of antiquities, the museum display, and the transfer of the Khufu boat.
