An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale hit Mukomuku district in Bengkulu province in Indonesia, and no casualties or material losses have been reported so far.
Indonesia's Antara news agency reported that the quake was centered 50 kilometers southwest of Mokomoko at a depth of 22 kilometers, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency.
The 5.0-magnitude earthquake is considered moderate in intensity, but it is capable of causing major damage to the earth.
Bengkulu is one of the Indonesian provinces prone to earthquakes.
