Learn about the harmful effects of exposure to the sun for long hours

Exposure to the sun for long hours exposes you to many complications throughout your body, as sunburn occurs when there is damage to the DNA of skin cells, and when these injuries accumulate, physical changes such as wrinkles occur.

According to a report published on WebMD, exposure to the sun for long hours leads to many diseases:

1. Cause dehydration

The sun's rays can cause your skin to dry out as a result of sunburn, which can be treated by removing the top layer of dead skin cells by using a skin exfoliator and then moisturizing it well.

2. Wrinkles

Ultraviolet rays can break down collagen and elastin, two proteins that keep the skin firm and smooth, and when affected, wrinkles appear, so it is necessary to maintain and moisturize the skin constantly and drink water a lot to avoid the appearance of early wrinkles.

3. The appearance of sun spots

Excessive sun can cause the formation of a flat brown or black spot, which is called liver spots or sun lenses, although melanin is present in the skin and protects against UV rays.

5. Basal cell carcinoma

Basal cell carcinoma is the most common form of skin cancer, which appears as pimples or spots.

6. Cataract

Cataracts can occur due to exposure of the eye to sunlight, because ultraviolet rays can cloud the lens of the eye, preventing the transmission of light to the retina.

7. Solar tanning

Which appears when the skin is exposed to ultraviolet rays, and it is a brown color that appears on the skin.
