The Omani governor of Irbid, Radwan Al-Atoum, administrative governors, heads of municipal committees and civil society institutions in the governorate urged citizens to take the initiative and speed up receiving the Corona vaccine to support efforts to combat the epidemic, leading to a safe summer.
Al-Atoum told the Jordan News Agency (Petra), that the success of the efforts to combat the epidemic requires concerted efforts at the official and popular levels to make it successful, foremost of which is immunizing society through receiving vaccinations and the demand for them, especially from the elderly, as it is the first line of defense for prevention, in addition to adhering to the Defense Law and the orders issued according to it. and related to public safety and prevention measures.
He added, that although the number of those who received one dose of the vaccine reached at least 300,000 and about 85,000 people received two doses, the ambition and hope are still greater with the increase in the demand for receiving the vaccine.
He pointed out that the voluntary rulers in the nine districts of the governorate were directed to launch awareness campaigns in cooperation with civil society institutions, municipalities and community actors to urge citizens to register on the platform and receive the vaccine.
In addition, an intensive campaign was launched on the social media platforms in the governorate, led by municipalities, civil society institutions, and activists urging receiving the vaccine to support and succeed efforts aimed at combating the epidemic and returning life to normal.
Yesterday, Saturday, the Jordanian Ministry of Health announced the registration of 8 deaths and 273 new infections with the Corona virus in the Kingdom, bringing the total number of deaths to 9,718 and infections to 749,319.
