Study: People with mild corona infection did not experience heart complications

A study issued by the British Heart Foundation and University College London revealed that a mild infection with the Coronavirus does not affect the heart and its functions, according to the Medical Express website.

The study indicated that the vast majority of people who were infected with Corona infection with mild or no symptoms did not result in any heart injuries, compared to the complications resulting from the new infection with the virus that may result in blood clots and heart infections, and sometimes even damage it.

The researchers examined a number of people with mild corona infection, by taking weekly samples of blood, saliva and nasal swabs for 16 weeks, and after six months of light infection, the researchers also examined the structure and function of the heart by analyzing cardiac magnetic resonance imaging tests of those recovering from the virus.

The results of the study concluded that they found no difference in the size or amount of the muscle of the left ventricle, which is the main chamber of the heart responsible for pumping blood around the body, or its ability to pump blood out of the heart among those recovering from the Corona virus who had mild or no symptoms.

When the researchers also analyzed the blood samples, they did not find any differences in the two signs of heart muscle damage, six months after a mild infection with Covid 19.

The study confirmed that people with mild infection are far from serious heart complications, so it is necessary to take care of those with severe corona infection and to know its effect on the heart and the health of blood vessels.

The study aimed to examine the short and long-term effects of Covid-19 on the heart and blood circulation, and that the Corona virus is not linked to permanent heart damage.
