Abbas, during his meeting with Biden's envoy: We call on Washington to intervene to put an end to the Israeli aggression


Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas received, on Monday, at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah, US envoy Hadi Omar.


According to the Palestinian News Agency, the American envoy was informed of the dangerous conditions that the city of Jerusalem is going through, the continuous attacks of extremist settlers who practice terrorism and call to kill Arabs, the attacks of the occupation forces against the Palestinian people and the safe worshipers in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, and the brutal and criminal Israeli escalation that occurred It must stop immediately on our people in the Gaza Strip, which left a catastrophe and devastation that caused hundreds of deaths, injured and displaced thousands, and for which the Israeli occupation government bears responsibility.


Abbas stressed the need for the American administration to intervene to put an end to the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people everywhere, stop the Israeli escalation, and start efforts to reach a political solution based on international legitimacy decisions, because security and stability will be achieved when the Israeli occupation of the land of the State of Palestine ends with East Jerusalem as its capital.


He indicated that the Palestinian side is ready to work with the International Quartet, in order to achieve a just and lasting peace that guarantees the rights of the Palestinian people to freedom and independence in accordance with what international law has recognized.


The President reiterated his thanks to President Biden for the decisions of his administration to resume aid provided to the Palestinian people and through UNRWA.


In turn, the US envoy stressed the need to achieve calm and stop the escalation, indicating that President Joe Biden's administration is making efforts with the concerned parties to achieve this goal.


The US official reiterated the positions of the US administration committed to achieving peace and providing equal opportunities for Palestinians and Israelis to live in dignity, security and prosperity, stressing the importance of working for a two-state solution.
